1968 Kit Companion For Sale

I inherited the trailer from a friend who passed away last year and it was in fairly poor condition with a lot of interior water damage. I decided early this year that it would be a great project for my 11 year old son and I to restore it a little and take it camping when we were done. One thing lead to another and the next thing we know we had the entire interior removed so we basically started from the floor up and now we have a completed complete interior restoration. A few years ago my friend had the trailer all resealed and painted on the exterior. We tried to keep as much of the original equipment in place as long as it was in working order and the interior layout is almost all original with a few tasteful improvements here and there. The following are a few key points that I would like to point out to potential customers.

It is 100% ready to go camping (we went twice)

Has fresh paint on the interior, including all cabinet doors

Everything in the trailer works well

Has the original stove/oven, sink, refrigerator, and counter top

Interior is nicely illuminated with all LED lighting

The entire electrical system was upgraded, starting with a new shore power converter/charger, wiring, battery, usb outlets, 120 volt outlets, battery meter, and dual two speed fans.

Original water Tank and hand pump faucet at the sink – no leaks

Trailer is equipped with electric brakes and they work well.

Rear window and small vent window have been completely restored and the vent window operates as new.

Complete new rear bed frame and enclosure (all new wood) and topped with a new twin mattress.

Has matching (new) spare tire along with a complete tire change kit (jack and lug wrench)

Added a new subfloor and sealed before installing new vinyl tile.

Refrigerator has been removed, disassembled, rebuilt, and reinstalled.

Complete removal of the roof vent assembly, restored, sealed and reinstalled.

All new curtains and curtain rods.

Well the list goes on and on but those are a few items that I’m sure people purchasing a 55 year old trailer may be concerned with. This is a charming little trailer but it does not have a bathroom but does come with a small self contained portable potty.
This project was fun but now we do not have a place to store it so it is time for a new home. I own a car stereo shop here in Chico CA and actually work on quite a few RV’s and trailers so I will say that the quality of the restoration is top notch, I didn’t skimp on anything and I am sure someone will enjoy using it in the future without any worries of workmanship. We are asking $6,500 or best offer for the trailer which after following the sales of small trailers for a few months seems fair.
