Ham and Eggs Vintage Shasta Chicken Coop

Vintage Shasta’s are often affectionately called “Canned Hams” and so you can understand why this adorable chicken coop was named Ham and Eggs. Built by member; FlyingHam of the Vintage Shasta forum.

These chickens are going to live in high style in this darling coop! You can visit the link above to watch the progress of building the coop. Isn’t it just too cute!? I wonder if I can talk hubby into helping me build one? I’d first have to convince him to let us get chickens first (:

  2. Isn't is something! I just love it. Wow, a piano? I hope you'll share a picture on your blog when you are done. I've just got to see it!

  3. Love this. Can we get pics from inside? this is incredibly fun just to look at… WELL DONE

  4. I so love this. When Mr Chiots was building our tiny teardrop I kept telling him that I wanted a chicken tractor just like it (maybe a tiny bit smaller). This would be a great way to use an older camper!

PS – here’s our tiny teardrop, not old – but it looks it: http://chiotsrun.com/2011/09/08/tiny-trailer-travels-part-six/

    • Chiot’s Run, Those little Teardrops are too cute! Not sure we’d ever fit 5 in one though (: But I bet they are great for 2 people. Oh and I bet easy to tow.

I have an old ’69 VW bus sans engine that I’ve been using for storage for years…It would take some logistic moves but I could roll it into my soon to be enlarged chicken yard, take it off the chassis…jack it up and VOILA! Then drag the frame back out to be recycled or junked….but then WHAT would I do with all those canning jars and wine bottles ?!

    • Sallie, That would be pretty neat I bet. If you ever do it, please let me know! I’d love to share a picture of it.
