This little cutie is at the paint shop getting a new paint job. They finished the bottom half and today will paint the top half. Oh my, is she going to be so cute when she’s all finished. Her original paint color was sort of a salmon color. This color is a bit brighter, which is what the buyer wanted and I think it will be adorable!
I am having pink envy at the moment. But hey, at least I can live pinkly through this one. I’m off to pick up Clementine (her new name) tomorrow night and will do some minor interior stuff to her over the weekend. I plan on installing a new sub-floor, new linoleum, new counter top and door sliders, new birch around the roof vent and installing a new cupboard door to cover the opening where the fridge goes.
This is her original color. Sort of a darker salmon-mauve is how I would explain it.
This is her “after” color. I like this much better. It’s just a bit brighter and gives her such a fresh look. I’m not sure which photo (this one or the one below) is a true representation of her color, but I love them both to be honest! Vintage Trailer Works restoration shop sent me these photos as he stopped by to check on her this morning to see how the paint was coming along.
I have secretly always wanted a vintage trailer this color with a matching tow vehicle! Someday I will have a trailer this color (:
Kelle, I love the color. I’m wavering between the pink and a turquoise/blue for my Shasta. I’m also searching for a blue stove to replace the brown one currently there.
Keep those photos coming!
Blessings from Salt Lake City,
Carolyn
I am struggling with the same colors! I think I’m going pink with dreams of turquoise for my 2nd!
Kelle,
Is the little shasta for sale? I’m enjoying the remodel blog.
Thanks,
Tammie
I am also wondering if this little gem will be for sale. If so, what will her price tag be.
Thank you! Judy
Hi Ladies, this trailer is already sold. However, I may come upon another one at some point.
Hi Kelle, like everyone, I am looking for a sweet little trailer like this too. What is your next project?
Hi Terri, currently my goal is to work on the 56 Southland Runabout. We’ve decided that once it’s complete we’ll list it for sale. That is unless someone is interested in it as-is and wants to take on the rest of the project themselves. Otherwise, I won’t have an idea on price until I see how much materials/time will be invested into it. I think it will be really cute when completed. Here are pictures of the Runabout. http://littlevintagetrailer.com/2012/04/1956-southland-run-about-vintage-trailer/ and http://littlevintagetrailer.com/2012/05/restoration-of-1956-vintage-trailer-day-1/
Do you mind telling me what kind of paint you use for the outside?
We are in the process of redoing a 1964 forester
Hi April, it’s automotive paint as we had her painted professionally. However, I have heard a lot of DIY’ers that say they use tractor paint as they say it is really good paint.
Love the color!
Hi I am restoring a 1956 Mobil Scout, and in need of a vintage Icebox that goes in a camper. Anyone know where I can find older camper appliance”s??? Also what primer works best on the camper before painting? Thanks so much for sharing all the photos and stories here, they all are so fun to see! Glenda

thanks so much!
