I was sent a BIC flamedisk to review for you all and wanted to share my findings and some photos.
The first thing I noticed is that it comes in a nice slim package which makes it easy to tuck into a cupboard in your trailer. Storage is a premium in most vintage trailers, so this was a definite plus.
It’s also very clean. You just take it out of the package, place it in your grill and light. Super easy and I love things that are clean and super easy!
It produces a clean flame and plenty of heat to cook several burgers or hot dogs at once. If you plan on cooking a lot of food at once with a large grill you would likely want to use two flamedisc. One disc lasts for about 40 minutes.
If you like flame broiled burgers then you’ll like this. There is no fuel taste to the burgers and I had my disc right under my burgers because of the grill I was using. You likely will have a bit more distance between your burgers and flamedisc. It worked great none the less and the burgers tasted just like they were cooked over charcoal.
The burgers turned out perfect! All in all I would highly recommend the flamedisc if you want a quick and easy way to cook over a grill as a charcoal alternative. The Bic Flamedisc also save you from having to haul bags of charcoal so that’s a plus as well.
Overall this is definitely something I would use for grilling. It’s quick, easy and clean! You can purchase them individually or in a 10-pack here: Buy Bic Flamedisc
Murphy,
It was easy. I simply shut the lid on the grill to smother the flame and then let it cool before disposing of it.
Great we found four of these at our grocery store, on the clearance rack for .99 cents each. I can’t wait to try them out.
Our store just put around 30 of these on the clearance rack for this years season, was going to grab some more but they ate $2.49. I’m hoping they will drop them again, last year they were.99 cents just have to wait and see.
