1956 Boles Aero-Park Model Mira Mar Trailer

Boles Aero Mira Mar trailer measures 8 feet wide by 16 feet long (19 feet with the tongue) and is crafted from riveted, aircraft-grade all-aluminum. It features internal framing that ensures long-lasting durability, unlike many vintage coaches that suffer deterioration from screwed or nailed frames. The trailer weighs between 3,000 and 3,500 lbs empty. Additionally, it boasts a generous ceiling height of 6 feet 2.5 inches in the front and 6 feet 1.5 inches in the back, making it accommodating for taller individuals. Please note that the exterior could benefit from a polish to enhance its beauty.

Inside, you’ll find a cozy double bed and a dinette that folds down into an oversized single bed, perfect for two children or one or two smaller adults. The Dixie 4-burner stove/oven is in perfect working order, and a new retro refrigerator and electric water heater are included. The shower functions with park water and sewer, while this park model trailer lacks gray or black water tanks. However, I have a new, unused wheeled portable external tank for waste. A 20-gallon water tank is located under the bed, it has never been used, and I suspect it just needs flushing out. I typically connect the trailer to park water while camping.

This trailer boasts an impressive amount of onboard storage, including a large closet for hanging clothes, numerous shelves, and under-seat storage. The previous owner painted and stained the interior, applying three coats of gloss spar varnish. Most of the birch paneling inside is original.
Recent updates include a new axle and electric brakes, as well as trailer-specific heavy-duty tires with only a few hundred miles on them. A spare tire is included. The trailer features moon hubcaps from an early 1950s DeSoto. The dinette seats have been professionally recovered, and new period-correct Hawaiian bark cloth curtains were custom-made.

The previous owner replaced the floor with new plywood and added period-correct vinyl tiling. We’ve decided to keep the exterior as is, valuing its historical character with all its dents, though it could be restored if desired and could use a polish for a sleeker appearance. The trailer comes with a period-correct awning; however, if you prefer a different style and would like to purchase your own, I can lower the price accordingly.

This beauty has provided us with countless wonderful memories over the years, from family trips to cozy weekends away. However, as my teens have grown, we find ourselves in need of a larger motorhome to accommodate our changing family dynamics and travel needs. It’s time to pass this cherished trailer on to someone else who will appreciate it as much as we have.
