I've been asked before if I think there is a benefit to adding diamond plating to the front of our Shasta Compact. The answer I would give would be a definite yes! Diamond plate offers protection to that lower front area on your trailer. That area is so prone to rocks and various debris flying up and hitting it. Thus, producing dings and dents on the skin. The … [Read more...]
What followed me home; 63 Shasta Compact!
Guess what founds it's way hitched to my bumper last night? A 1963 Shasta Compact with original birch interior. Overall it's in very good shape and I can tell the previous owners took care of it. The tires are like new. It does have a bit of A-typical water damage around the roof vent but the leak it had was repaired and it doesn't leak now. It also has some previous … [Read more...]
Q & A: Baby moon hubcaps and white walls
Question from Lisa: I'm enjoying your new site. Thanks for all the great info. I'm at the point where I'm looking for white walls and baby moons for the original rims. Did you buy your baby moons and white wall tires for buttercup? If you don't mind sharing, do you know where I could find them to fit? Since the original rims have 4 bolts, I'm finding it hard … [Read more...]

Sneak Peek
Well guys my new blog layout is almost done and I'm almost ready to move over to Wordpress. I wanted to give you just a little sneak peek. This is what the new header image looks like. I think my favorite part is the tag line "happiness on wheels". That sums it up perfectly. Hopefully, I'll be all set up and ready to go by next week sometime. So I'll see you all … [Read more...]
Vintage Trailer Add-A-Room
Have you ever wished you could add more living space to your vintage trailer? I suppose I'm speaking to those folks with really small trailers. Or maybe it would be nice to have an enclosed area to set up a table for dining, card playing, etc., when the weather is less than ideal? For us the desire to have more space is actually for the purpose of sleeping. A … [Read more...]
